The United States Department of the Treasury had 55 full-sized replicas of the Liberty Bell made and presented to each state and territory. Texas' Liberty Bell replica was not seen.

State Capitol
Texas became a state in 1845. The current capitol building was completed in 1888. The structural exterior is "sunset granite" quarried just 50 miles away. In 1993 the underground extension north of the main building was completed.
Heroes of the Alamo Monument
The names of the fallen heroes of the Alamo are inscribed on the inner sides of the four columns.
Terry's Texas Rangers Monument
Plaque in front reads: IN COMMEMORATION OF THE VALOR OF EIGHTH TEXAS CAVALRY BETTER KNOWN AS "TERRY'S TEXAS RANGERS" PROVISIONAL ARMY OF THE CONFEDERATE STATES (1861 - 1865) ERECTED 1907 BY SURVIVING COMRADES.

Plaque reads:
This statue was fashioned by Constance Whitney Warren of New York, during her residence in Paris, France
This wonderful work of art was presented by this distinguished American Artist through the solicitation of Pat M. Neff, GOvernor of the State of Texas, and Charles Cason, of New York as a memorial gift to Texas, the native home of the cowboy
This bronze tribute to the rough and romantic riders of the range was unveiled by Governor Neff in the presence of state officials and the members of the legislature, January 17, 1925

Tribute to Texas Children
Dedicated June 1998
... the monument depicts six children on a field trip to the Texas State Capitol. School children in more than 600 Texas schools raised the funds necessary to ensure the success of the tribute, which honors and celebrates children everywhere.
Northside of Capitol
This is a view of the northside of the Capitol building. Directly beneath this area is the underground Capitol Extension. The small building on the left is the east entrance to the extension.
