Missouri/Mississippi Confluence, St. Charles, Boone's Home
Picture Set [1], [2], [3], [4], [5], [6], [7], [8], [9]

The Ted and Pat Jones Confluence State Park is just north of St. Louis.
This is the point at which I was going to begin my trip up the Missouri River,
but high water resulted in the road closures and a change in plans.

On the opposite side of the Missouri is the Columbia Bottoms Conservation Area; an observation
area from that side was open. This is the conservation area's visitor center.

The observation area a few miles from the visitor's center. The path to it was nearly under water.

The confluence; underneath the trees at the point is the Ted and Pat Jones Confluence
State Park. The Missouri is in front; the Mississippi is flowing down the right.

Seaman and his buddies, Meriwether Lewis and William Clark, honored at the riverside.

St. Charles Depot

Missouri's first capitol still exists. After the state capital was moved to Jefferson City,
at one time, it was Peck Bros. Dry Goods and Hardware, according to sign above center door.

Art work in front of the Foundry Art Center, it didn't lure me.

Daniel Boone's last home, near Defiance, Mo.

The back of Boone's home.

The home of Squire Boone, Daniel's brother.

One of two gravesites for Daniel Boone; each site claim they have Boone's remains.
This gravesite is a few miles from his home, the other gravesite is in Kentucky.
