Left Childress, Texas headed for Memphis, Texas on U.S. Hwy 287 expecting cross the Red River but it ceased to be
the Red River and was not the Prairie DOg Town Fork of the Red River. Somewhere east of this point Buck Creek and
this fork merge to form the Red River.

Little park along the square in Memphis, Texas. The walls have displays on the history of Hall County.

Some county or city building along the square. The streets around the square are brick.

Another view of the Prairie Dog Town Fork of the Red River on my way to Turkey, Texas.

Entrance to Turkey, Texas.

Turkey, Texas claims to be home of the Western Swing King, Bob Wills. But, the official website for Bob Wills
never mentions Turkey by name. The website states Wills was a barber for a while and Turkey states Wills
was a barber in Turkey when he started his band. A monument in Turkey dedicated to Bob Wills.

Midway outdoor theater is midway between Turkey and Quitaque. Also midway between
New York and Los Angeles, the sign says.

A rest stop presented this view along Texas Hwy 207. Some local created a route in the early 1900's
down the steep slope. This route, somewhat dangerous, reduce to distance to travel to reach the town of
Claude by 120 miles. He was also very instrumental in having the road paved.

My most downstream view of the Prairie Dog Town Fork of the Red River in Palo Duro Canyon State Park.

A replica of Col. Charles Goodnight's dugout he used when settling this area. Goodnight rounded up
wild longhorns in the area and drove them to trail heads in Kansas.

My most upstream view of Prairie Dog Town Fork of the Red River in the state park.

A view of Palo Duro Canyon from the rim near the visitors center. The fork is down there somewhere.
